I was recently at my favourite learning institution, The Wizard Academy in Texas. It’s a school for writers, and marketers in particular. It’s the brainchild of Roy Williams, The Wizard of Ads, and what an amazing place it is! I went to learn more about “Writing for Radio and the Internet”, and one of my teachers was Jeff Sexton, a wonderfully creative guy who personally helped me along. I just read his latest blog posting called “Share of Voice VS Share of Mind”. It does explain the difference between the two terms, but more importantly, it shows how a good radio commercial will increase your company’s ‘share of mind’ by ten times! I know… it sounds like an exaggeration, but read his short blog to understand why a stellar, unexpected commercial will bring you far more customers than a typical bland commercial.
